Damilola Adeparusi hails from Ekiti State in Nigeria. She is currently a 300-level student studying at the Federal University Oye Ekiti, Ekiti state.

Her attempt has also sparked different reactions from social media users.

While some users lauded her courage and initiative, others criticised her for alleged plan to undercut Baci’s attempt.

Yemi Oyebanji, the first lady of Ekiti state, commended the chef and described her efforts as a show of determination and courage.

Baci also declared her support for her, quashing the rumoured rivalry between them.

@Detolah: Naija sha!!!! I think most of these people suddenly resurrecting are envious and annoying. This is why you need to hide your successes from people, they will go ahead and try to steal it from you. At least let Hilda get award first, Make breeze blow on it. Chef gbigbeyiyan

Baci had grabbed the headlines some weeks back when she surpassed the world cooking record of 87 hours 45 minutes previously set by Lata Tondon, an Indian chef, in 2019

Hilda Basi’s attempt, however, was officially certified by the Guinness World Record (GWR) on the 13th of June 2023.

According to their website, it can take up to 16 weeks to verify a new Guinness World Record.

“The current waiting period for all applications is a maximum of 16 weeks. Our current waiting time for reviewing evidence for attempted records is a maximum of 16 weeks,” The Guinness World Record team stated on their website.

Chef Damilola Adeparusi also has to apply to Guinness before undertaking her 120 hours cookathon.

If all these terms are met, then her attempt is credible and has a chance to be certified.

In conclusion, Damilola Adeparusi is a talented chef and a role model for women in Nigeria and around the world. She stated that she and her team will come back stronger for another Cook-a-thon of 150 hours. She is an inspiration to many people, and she is proof that anything is possible if you set your mind to it and not givinggive up.
