Sinach is from Ebonyi State, in the Eastern part of Nigeria, and is the second daughter of seven children.
Sinach began singing in the year 1989 as a hobby and also working as a staff and choir member in Christ Embassy alongside Frank Edward, Ada Eben, and several others.
She is a graduate from the University of Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria; where she read physics.
