When you talk about a healthy relationship, there is no strict guide to know if you are in a healthy relationship. However, if you are in a relationship where one of you constantly put everything into the relationship and the other doesn’t reciprocate, that’s a sign of an unhealthy relationship. If your partner is abusive, the relationship is unhealthy also.
In a healthy relationship, you should always feel loved, secure and you should never feel terrified of your partner.
Having said all these, there are signs to look out for and know if your relationship is healthy.

1. You Support yourselves
One person shouldn’t stress themselves out trying to please their spouse by doing all the nice things for their spouse and don’t get any support in return – one person shouldn’t initiate physical affection or sex – one person should not plan the dates and outing.
If your partner is there for you in tough times, support you in the good times by offering encouragement and enthusiasm. It’s a sign the relationship is healthy.
2. You respect yourselves
Respect for your partner is healthy for your relationship. When you and your partner respect each other not only as partners, but as human beings and unique individuals; like respecting each other’s personal dignity, wishes, and seeing value in each other; then the relationship is a healthy one.

3. You both communicate
If the communication you have with your partner most of the time is physical affection, listening to each other, validating the other person, using soft words, expressing appreciation, affirmation, and compliments. Then it is a sign the relationship is healthy.
